Today is National Ravioli Day! They're one of my all-time favorite foods, so I thought I'd fill you in on who makes my favorite ravioli here in South Jersey. I'll give you one guess what I'm having for dinner tonight.

For me, there are no better ravioli in the area than that of Severino Pasta in Westmont.

I can't remember a Christmas or Easter dinner that didn't include their pasta. They make the tastiest little pockets filled with everything from traditional ricotta cheese, to mushroom, to lobster. When it comes to ravioli, for me, it's about the balance of flavor in the filling. Severino's is so savory, never overly salty or bland. In my eyes, they're perfect. It's not a sit-in restaurant though, it's a pasta factory, which means the pasta is right-off-belt fresh. I love that I can pick up a couple packages to take home, along with their enormous selection of homemade sauces.

Here's the Severino Pasta story:

'For over 40 years, Severino Pasta Company has been the place to find authentic, artisanal pasta hand made with only the freshest ingredients. Our family story began in a small kitchen in 1971 when Joseph and Anna Maria Severino started making 100% Semolina flour pasta unsurpassed in texture, color, and quality.' --Severino Pasta, Facebook

The next time you're in the mood for great ravioli, Severino's is worth the trip.
