Motorcyclist With Open Container Runs into Mullica Police Car
Riding a motorcycle with an open container of alcohol and running into the back of a police cruiser are probably two things you shouldn't be doing on a Friday night in Mullica Township.
Mullica Township Police say just before midnight Friday night, a police car was rear-ended by a motorcycle on Nesco Road. The patrol car, drived by Corporal Jake O'Hara was on routine patrol.
The rider of the motorcycle, Steven Leylo, 58, of Nesco, was ejected from the bike, and was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. O'Hara was not injured.
Police say that "evidence at the scene indicated that Lelyo was operating the motorcycle with an open alcoholic container as several were found at the scene including one that landed on the police car after the collision."
Lelyo was charged with driving under the Influence of alcohol and or drugs, open alcoholic container. Other related offenses are said to be pending.
