A man wearing a burka and armed with a handgun held up a Republic Bank in Camden County over the weekend.

According to Camden County Prosecutor's Office, the robbery took place just before 6 p.m. Saturday at the Republic Bank on E. Kings Highway and Chestnut St. in Haddonfield.

Authorities believe the suspect wore the burka in an effort to conceal his identity. In surveillance camera images, he is seen wearing black pants and boots, and carrying a tan tote bag.


The man managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of cash, but thankfully no one was injured, reports Courier Post.
