The town of Pitman, N.J. got national exposure over the weekend when their high school's prom was featured on Good Morning America.

The weekend edition of the popular ABC morning show was looking to feature the prom of a small, tight-knit community.  17-year-old Pitman High School senior Karlie Crispin tells CourierPostOnline.com she thinks the reason GMA chose Pitman is because, “Everyone knows everyone. We have that unique, small-town feel. The community is involved in everything we do as a school".

School Superintendent Dr. Patrick McAleer and Principal Dr. Cherie Lombardo were speechless when they received the call from ABC News producers interested in highlighting their student body's special event.

Camera crews and GMA anchors including Ginger Zee started their night at the Pitman High School Auditorium for some pre-prom photos and fun. The party then moved to  Adelphia in Deptford, for dancing and the crowning of the prom king and queen.

Pitman was likely singled out for it's small-town values, which includes being a dry town, dating back to the 1880's.
