After being hospitalized for a reported heroin overdose, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi (the daughter of Jon Bon Jovi) will not face criminal prosecution.

TMZ is breaking the story that the DA of Oneida County is dismissing all criminal charges against Jon's 19-year-old daughter who is a student at Hamilton College in New York.

TMZ reports that the District Attorney dropped the charges because of a New York state  law that specifically prohibits prosecution of people experiencing a drug overdose, as well as the people who help them seek medical care (the "Good Samaritan" section of this law).

Yesterday Stephanie Rose was found "unresponsive" in her dorm room, and a later search of her place by police produced additional heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
