Man Convicted of Killing 10-year-old at Pleasantville, NJ, High School Football Game

An Atlantic City man now potentially faces life in prison after being convicted of murdering a 10-year-old boy at a Pleasantville High School football game in 2019.

After a five-day jury trial, 35-year-old Alvin Wyatt was convicted of murder, two counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess firearms charges.

Wyatt faced the murder and attempted murder charges after firing eight times into the bleachers at a crowded Pleasantville High School football game on November 15, 2019.

One of the bullets struck 10-year-old Micah "Dew" Tennant in the neck while he watched the game with his mother and sister.

Multiple bystanders rendered aid to the child at the scene, however, after numerous surgeries, he died from his injuries several days after the shooting.

Wyatt’s gunfire also struck 31-year-old Ibn Abdullah three times and left him permanently confined to a wheelchair.

A third victim, then 15 years old, was shot once in the arm.

Officers with the Pleasantville Police Department apprehended the defendant as he attempted to flee the scene.
