One of the most popular television shows during the '90s and early 2000s was Friends.  A sitcom that centered around the exploits of 6 single friends living in New York.

Some of the best episodes revolved around the friends hanging out at the fictional Central Perk Cafe.  Who didn't love hearing Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay sing her legendary tune, Smelly Cat?

Central Perk Cafe looked like a cool place for a bunch of friends to get together and just chat about life.  But does a place like Central Perk Cafe exist in real life?

These days, more and more people are looking for ways to socialize with friends that don't involve alcohol.

There's a place in Ventnor on Dorset Ave just before the bridge called Ventnor Coffee, and it is as close as you're going to get to a Central Perk Cafe experience here in South Jersey.

It's a cool little coffee house that is a great place for friends to gather, grab a coffee, and perhaps check out some live local entertainment.

Sure there are plenty of those chain coffee places that dot the state, but they lack the charm, and personality of Ventnor Coffee.

Ventnor Coffee offers a good-sized menu of options without the pretentiousness of some coffee places.  No fancy names here.  Want a black coffee, order a black coffee.

Their menu has a nice selection of teas, Espresso, iced coffee, and several signature drinks like their Truffle Shuffle Latte.

They also offer pastries for you to nosh on as you chat with friends.  They're open 7 days year-round, and offer an open mic night on Thursdays.
