Police report a baby was injured Tuesday when a minivan and sedan collided in Atlantic County.

The accident took place approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of New and Zion Roads in Northfield.  According to NBC40.net, a white minivan being, driven by 50-year old Avis Jackson of Pleasantville, failed to observe a stop sign, crashing into the green Nissan Maxima carrying the infant.

The child was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, along with two other occupants of the Nissan.  Avis Jackson was treated by Shore Medical Center.  Northfield Police do not believe any injuries to be life threatening.

Traffic near New and Zion Roads was detoured while the accident was cleaned up.  The collision remains under investigation.
