If ‘Game of Thrones’ Was in New Jersey
What would happen if you mixed the most popular TV show and the best state? Honestly, I think the viewer numbers would go up. Plus the author himself, George R.R. Martin, is from New Jersey!
We are just a month away from the final season of Game of Thrones, which got me thinking what would happen if the story took place in Martin's home state.
- 1
The Wildlings would be from North Jersey.
They're a little different, but still from New Jersey. They're not bad people by any means, just misunderstood. They are stereotyped by the way they talk and the way they dress.
- 2
The Driscoll Bridge is the Wall.
If the Wildlings are from North Jersey, then the Dricoll Bridge is the Wall that separates the state.
- 3
Daenerys would have 3 Jersey Devils
Yes, I know there is only one Jersey Devil, but how cool would it be if she had three? Plus, there have never been dragons in New Jersey, only the Jersey Devil. How unrealistic would that be if she had dragons? Psh.

Littlefinger would be a used car salesman.
You walk into a car lot "just looking" and you walk out buying a car you didn't even know you wanted. It's like magic. Their long monologues are full of flourishes and sound like Shakespeare wrote them. It's just like how Littlefinger talks.
- 5
Tyrion would feel at home.
Why? Well, Peter Dinklage is from New Jersey. Ok, I know that has nothing to do with the show. I just wanted to add that little fun fact.
- 6
The Greyjoys would run the Port Elizabeth Terminal
Yes, I know technically that would mean they are up with the Wildlings and Night King, but can we pretend that geography isn't relative? Technically the Greyjoys are from the Iron Islands, but they would definitely be in control of all of the ships coming in and out of New Jersey.
- 7
The White Walkers would be tourists.
Was there any doubt?
- 8
With White Walkers in mind...
Instead of "winter is coming" it would be changed to "summer is coming".

The Lannisters made their money on the railroad.
Just like their gold mines that have all been emptied, the railroad business isn't exactly a flourishing one anymore. I did a lot of research for this one and found one of the richest people in American history John I. Blair was from New Jersey and made money from railroads. In my mind they are descendants of his.

Cersei would be hated for her preferences in food.
Cersei thinks she's too good for pork roll and Wawa. No one is above the sacred foods of New Jersey. For this reason, she is the worst.
