I Bet You Didn’t Know These 10 Movies Were Filmed in New Jersey
Get ready to be mind-blown.
Isn't film production so fascinating? I'm always intrigued by how film crews can arrive at one place, and transform it into a completely different one. It's movie magic!
On Friday night, I was watching a Netflix documentary called The Movies That Made Us, and there was one episode about Friday the 13th. I always knew that movie had to have some NJ connection since Jason's last name is Voorhees, just like the South Jersey town.
But what I found out was way cooler than just a name connection (which I was right about, by the way).
Apparently, the real Camp Crystal Lake (actually named Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco) where the movie was shot is located in New Jersey - up in Warren County, in a town called Hardwick. I had no idea.
This little revelation made me wonder...what other cinema greats were filmed in The Garden State? A quick search on Wikipedia revealed that so many movies have been shot here.
It's more obvious that some of these movies, like the ones that take place in a city, were filmed here. But it's shocking to find out that some of these movies, like the one set in dystopian worlds, were made right in our own backyards.
I could go on and on about the impressive work it takes to transform our state into the places you see on the silver screen, but instead, I'll hop right into telling you about 10 movies I bet you didn't know were filmed in New Jersey.
