How Eating at Six Flags Helped a Guy Pay Off His Student Loans
When it comes to paying down debt, sometimes you've just got to get creative. That's what one man did by eating at a Six Flags amusement park.
Wow, could you imagine attempting to recreate this man's plan at Great Adventure here in New Jersey?
A 33-year-old man named Dylan reportedly managed to pay off his student loans, buy a house, and get married by using his season pass to have meals at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, California, according to Mel Magazine.
The electrical engineer, who's last name was not revealed, reportedly accomplished his goal over a seven year period, starting in 2014. Dylan's $150/year season pass included two meals at the park per day.
Over those seven years, he ate about 2,000 meals at Magic Mountain, consisting largely of fast food like burgers, fries, pizza, and soda.
Dylan told Mel Magazine, that he hardly even had to go to the grocery store that first year thanks to his idea to just keep dining at Six Flags. In later years, however, he'd cut back to a few lunches at the park a week.
That's a lot of trips to take to an amusement park, but Dylan's season pass also reportedly including complimentary parking.
It's both ingenious and sad that Dylan has to go to such extremes to accomplish his life goals and free himself from his student loans.
If you could eat at ONE New Jersey or Jersey Shore theme park for a whole year to save money, which would you pick?
