House Explosion in Villas Critically Injures Two [PHOTOS]

A house exploded Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of East Atlantic Avenue in Villas injuring two people.

WPVI-TV reports the house exploded around 4:00 Thursday afternoon, trapping an elderly husband and wife. According to reports, neighbors helped free the two people who were taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center in critical condition. Numerous area fire departments responded to the two-alarm fire. Lower Township Mayor Michael Beck says the house is completely demolished. What caused the explosion is still being determined.
