House Blows Up in Gloucester County Killing Husband and Wife
A house in Newfield exploded early Saturday morning, killing a retired school nurse and her husband.
72-year-old Carole Paladino and her 73-year-old husband John were reportedly in their beds inside their Oakwood Drive home when it exploded around 6:15 a.m., killing them, 6abc.com reports.
Photos and video of the scene show debris scattered throughout the neighborhood. Volunteer firefighter Wayne Ingling told NJ.com "It just looked like ground zero. Mattress parts in the wires and trees. Windows blown out of the other houses."
The cause of the blast is still under investigation, and official causes of death will be determined upon autopsy.
