It's not uncommon to see an uptick in the searches for volunteering opportunities during the holiday season.

If you currently reside in Hamilton Township and have found yourself wondering how you could be of use to others this season, you're in luck.

An alert when out this week making people aware of a community clean up event at Lake Lenape in early December. The event will be hosted by the ACUA and the NJ Watershed Ambassador program. Affiliates from AmeriCorps are apparently also involved in the event.

If you're interested in participating, there are a few steps you need to take now to ensure your spot. First, you'll have to register. It's easy; it only take about two-to-three minutes to complete the form. You can do that HERE. Once you register, make sure you double check the list of instructions.

The instructions inform all those planning to volunteer to wear masks. The event will take place on Saturday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. That means it's probably best to dress appropriately for the weather. It's December, so who knows... it may be pretty warm that day, or it could be in the 20s. Either way, make sure you check the temperatures for that morning.

Also, you'll want to make sure you stay hydrated, so bring a water bottle. For more information, you're invited to check out the clean-up's events page on Facebook HERE.
