Here’s A Unique South Jersey Holiday Outing: Try Railbiking In Cape May
Last December, the first-ever railbiking route in New Jersey opened up right here in South Jersey. The company responsible for the excursion is called Revolution Rail Company. They currently have a few other railbike routes in other parts of the country, but the South Jersey one is one of their newest locations.
Not sure what "railbiking" means? It's a bike system in which the rider (or biker) is seated and must pedal to make the cart move along the track. It's almost like paddle boating, but on a rail track.
Cape May's railbike track will take riders through the Garrett Family Preserve where they'll have the chance to explore four miles of Cape May's beautiful landscape. According to their website, the trails Revolution Rail Co has the South Jersey route taking about an hour and a half or so to complete. The route is only four miles, so it shouldn't be too difficult of a ride most people.
If you're worried about your kids being too young to enjoy a holiday ride in the crisp Cape May air, don't even stress. You can bring your little ones. No pets, though. Still, when you're lucky enough to find an activity like this that allows for your young children to tag along, that's a pretty sweet situation.
