Hard Rock & White House Subs Donate Lunch to AC Mega-Site Workers
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City surprised 130 frontline healthcare workers, National Guard members and other staff at the Atlantic County COVID-19 vaccination mega-site at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Tuesday, April 20.
The hearty lunch made up of White House Subs was individually packaged and delivered to show appreciation for the workers ongoing community efforts. The resort will drop off another lunch donation in partnership with The Flavor Tour next week on Tuesday, April 27.
The mega-site staff had to scramble to reschedule some appointments last week for the now-suspended Johnson & Johnson shots at Atlantic City's COVID-19 vaccination mega-site. The setback put a temporary dent in concerted efforts to vaccinate 25,000 casino workers in the city by Memorial Day.
The Atlantic City Convention Center mega-site has vaccinated over 200,000 people and is now vaccinating close to 4000 people on a good day. NJ. Gov. Phil Murphy and his wife Tammy visited the site on April 9th and received their first Covid-19 vaccination.
New Jersey still hopes to inoculate about 2.5 million residents to reach its goal of fully vaccinating 70% of adults by the end of June. The state opened shots to everyone 16 and older on Monday.
The Atlantic County COVID-19 Vaccination mega-site will be offering up to 700 walk-in vaccination appointments daily from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, through Friday, April 21 to 23.
A parent or guardian must accompany those under age 18. Walk-in vaccinations will be first come, first-served as vaccine supplies last. Those who have registered online and made an appointment through vaccination.atlanticare.org will be prioritized.
“We still encourage all members of the community to schedule an appointment online,” said Sherrie Bragg, MSN, RN, clinical facility manager, Megasite, and director, Ambulatory Nursing, AtlantiCare. “We are scheduling appointments through May 15.”
The mega-site is located in the Atlantic City Convention Center, 1 Convention Blvd., Atlantic City. Parking is free.
