Residents in Gloucester Twp. helped raise more than $59,000 in donations that will be used to help one of their neighbors keep his home.

Lamar Harris is Special Needs adult. He has little to no family, having lost both his parents and a sibling, essentially everyone who could help care for him. But over the years, he's endeared himself to those he lives alongside.

A GoFundMe page set up in Harris' honor states, "As a result of the death of his family members, his reading deficits, and his inability to understand finances, he has fallen behind in his property taxes," reports Courier Post. A $50,000 lien was reportedly placed on Harris' home on Cherry Circle, and neighbors step up to raise those funds, and then some.

And the community is continuing to band together to make sure Harris doesn't face similar foreclosure in the future, even going so far as to help him secure an attorney.
