Hit and Run Driver Damages Animal Sanctuary in Bridgeton, NJ
An animal sanctuary in Bridgeton, New Jersey is picking up the pieces after a hit and run driver caused damage to the property.
The accident happened at Uncle Neil's Home, A Farm Sanctuary, Sunday night around 10 p.m., 6abc.com reports.
Bridgeton, NJ Animal Sanctuary Badly Damaged Following Accident
The farm's owner Rian Feldman and partner Scooter Belasco reportedly awoke to discover a small red vehicle had crashed onto the property, leaving metal debris and car parts scattered about the sanctuary.
The impact caused pipes to burst, flooding the farms well. Thankfully, no animals were injured.
The alleged driver of the vehicle was caught on the farm's surveillance camera fleeing the scene of the accident after jumping over a gate.
That driver reportedly returned to the sanctuary with police some time after the crash, according to 6abc.com. He says the accident happened after he fell asleep behind the wheel of his car. New Jersey State Police are investigating but no charges have been filed yet.
