A mid-morning crane fire in Gloucester City, New Jersey Tuesday resulted in plumes of smoke clouds billowing over and across lanes of the nearby Walt Whitman Bridge.

Firefighters are reportedly still working to get the blaze, which became ignited around 9:30 a.m., under control.

Live video from the scene captured by NBC 10 Philadelphia shows the base of the crane engulfed in flames as firefighters continuously spray water to try and extinguish them.

The large industrial crane is located near Gloucester City Terminal, according to nbcphiladelphia.com.

Amazingly, traffic approaching and over the Walt Whitman Bridge was not disturbed by the fire and smoke. At present time there are no reported detours or closures affecting the bridge.

There are no reports of any injuries of what sparked the crane to catch fire. We'll continue to follow this story as more details become available.
