Dump Truck Loses Its Load, Spills Dirt All Over Roadway in Somers Point, NJ
In photos shared by witnesses, the dump truck appears to be on its side, a significant amount of dirt is spilled across the road.
First responders were on the scene including an ambulance. The driver of the dump truck reportedly needed help being free from the vehicle and appeared to have suffered a broken arm.
A white van occupied by a woman may have been involved in the accident. The vehicle's airbags reportedly deployed.
Traffic was backed up and, for a time, detoured, according to onlookers.
One of our readers Joseph Luther shared a photo with us of a bulldozer called to the site to scoop up and move the dirt off the road. There also appeared to be a crane attached to or separate from a nearby firetruck, presumably to help right the overturned dump truck.
