The disaster on Twin Oaks Drive (in the Holly Bush area) began around mid afternoon on Saturday, December 26, reportedly after a vehicle in the home's garage caught fire, according to 6abc.com, but a full-scale investigation continues. It took firefighters more than an hour to bring the flames under control.

It's not clear if anyone was home at the time the blaze broke out, however one firefighter sustained non-life threatening injuries, and the family (including five children) lost all of their belongings, including all their Christmas gifts.

The full power of the flames can be witnessed in images below posted to Hammonton Independent Volunteer Fire Co. 2's Facebook page.

Saturday also marked the 4th birthday of the family's youngest child.

But the community has stepped up to help with local moms and friends of the family springing into action to collect clothing, toys, and other donations.

Shamong resident and volunteer Mary Brooks told 6abc.com, "It amazes us what the community can do in 24 hours."

We applaud the Shamong Twp. community for rallying together to help this family of 7 get through this difficult time.
