We're coming up on flu season, compounding an already complicated year as we continue to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. Camden County is setting up a clinic in Gloucester Township with three events offering drive-thru flu shots, Patch.com reports.

In a statement, County officials said getting a flu shot this fall is  "critical to protecting public health". Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez stated to Patch.com"It is always important for our residents to protect themselves and their families by getting vaccinated, but with our battle against COVID-19 still in full effect, it is especially important in 2020".

The drive-thru flu shot events will take place at Camden County Regional Emergency Training Center at 420 Woodbury-Turnersville Rd. in Blackwood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 13, October 27, and November 17.

Kids nine and older must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. CamCare can help parents of children who are currently uninsured by calling 856-541-9811, or the Bellmawr Health Center at 856-931-2700. Further inquiries regarding the flu shot clinics can be directed to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at 1-800-999-9045.
