Blackwood NJ Closer to Burrito Heaven as Chipotle Restaurant Takes Shape
A Chipotle Mexican Grill being built off Blackwood-Clementon Road is coming along quickly.
I can't believe this used to be a Denny's! The minute I found out the property was sold and that Chipotle was the rumored buyer, I've been keeping a very close eye on it's construction.
The project moved along slowly in the beginning as the old Denny's was demolished and the site cleared. But in the last few weeks steel framework has been erected, curbs are being carved out, and if I had to guess, this place could be open by Thanksgiving.
Okay, maybe that's a BIT of a stretch (according to their website Chipotle isn't even hiring yet for the Blackwood location), but I wouldn't rule it out. The structure is really starting to take shape. Sooner enough, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, and tacos will be flying out of the place (And, yes, we KNOW the guac is extra!).
Blackwood-Clementon Rd. is going through a bit of a redevelopment phase. After the closings of Pizza Hut, Friendly's, Denny's, and Nifty Fifties, Royal Farms convenience store and gas has opened, as has Keep It Shrimple seafood boil restaurant, and a Super Wawa is in the planning stages.
When we have more info to share about the Blackwood Chipotle we'll pass it along!
