Bank of America had very big plans for it's debit card holders... the operative word being HAD.

The banking institution was making final preparations to initiate a monthly fee of $25 per month for its debit card holders.  The new charge was due to go into effect on January 1, 2012.

But this new measure left customers in such an uproar that the outrage and backlash has led Bank of America to nix the whole project.

Phew, close one.  Because Bank of America also attaches a 'save the change' program to its debit cards, rounding up to every dollar spent and sending the leftovers to your savings account.  An incentive to keep using that debit method, but not so worthwhile if $25 comes back OUT on a monthly basis.  So thanks Bank of America, you almost lost me there!
