Aftermath of Atlantic City Airport Fire
On Friday, November 11, 2016 there was a brush fire at the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY).
I was driving in Egg Harbor Township when I smelled smoke, that smelled like someone had a fireplace burning. I thought this was strange because it was almost 70 degrees and nobody would have a fire to heat their house. It was pretty windy at the time so I was guessing that the smoke could be coming from quite a ways away.
As I was getting closer to the end of the runway at the Atlantic City International Airport, I noticed lots of firetrucks and emergency vehicles. It was pretty obvious then, where the smell of smoke was coming from.
Seeing emergency vehicles and a fire at the end of an airport runway is always a scary thing - thank goodness no aircraft was involved.
