My mom sent this to me because she gets paranoid about stuff like this...like a concerned  mom should.
1. Pay at the gas pump - You run the risk of skimmers getting your info.

2. When you're buying online - You run the risk of skimmers getting your info.

3. At the supermarket - You run the risk of skimmers getting your info.

4. At the car rental counter - Use a real credit card instead.

5. When booking a trip in advance - Paying with credit card ensures you can do a charge-back if you don't get the travel you paid for.

6. When buying furniture and big appliances - Pay only by credit card. You reduce your risk if the store goes bust.

7. When setting up automatic drafts - A business may continue to make monthly automated clearing house debits from your account once your contract with them ends.

8. Independent ATMs - You run the risk of skimmers getting your info.

9. At a restaurant - There is a high turnover at restaurants, so you don't want a dishonest or disgruntled employee to get hold of your money.

On that note...HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Let's be careful out there.
