My app for this week is Pet First Aid, created by the American Red Cross. If you are a pet parent, this is an app you'll definitely want on your phone!

I just recently adopted a cat (her name is Mila, and I'm obsessed), but I have zero idea what do in case of an emergency.

This is how I found, Pet First Aid! I previously downloaded the regular First Aid app from American Red Cross, but had zero idea they had this free app available to users.

As a new cat mom, I felt the need to share it with my fellow pet parents. So, here's five reasons to download this FREE app to your phone...you won't regret it!

    LEARN THE BASICS ABOUT YOUR PET

    Find out what's normal and the basics about your pet. If your cat/dog is allergic do you know what it would like? Or what if your pet was choking, do you know what to do? Pet First Aid lists every possible scenario for you. And with pictures, for us visual folk.

    PREPARE FOR ANYTHING

    As a new pet parent, I don't know much about training or what to do in case of a disaster/emergency. Pet First Aid gives you details about training, traveling, medications and even how to cope when it's time to say good bye.

    NOW THERE'S AN EMERGENCY

    Don't worry, Pet First Aid has got it covered. Save your pet's veterinary doctor to the app or locate a vet hospital if you're out of state. The app also provides what to do in case a vet isn't an option.
