I've been trying to keep a flat stomach for my upcoming cruise.  So far, I've fallen FLAT on my face.  My vacation begins next Friday, but it's never to early to eat right, right??

A recent study found the average person consumes 2,400 calories during the game.  Which is on the high end of what most of us should get in an entire DAY.

WebMD put together three simple tricks that can help you avoid it:

  • 1

    Alternate between beer and water

A lot of the calories you get come from beer.  So obviously if you drink water too, you can cut those calories in half.  Be the better person, and don't listen to the people who say 'why are you drinking water?'. Those are the guys that are going to be missing work the next morning because of they were to stupid the night before.  If you don't want to alternate between beer and water, then just drink water and be the designated driver.  People respect that.

  • 2

    Only eat at halftime

Or in other words, make sure you don't sit there mindlessly shoving food in your face for four straight hours.  This will be my ultimate challenge.  My recliner is my best friend, and is also a very bad influence.  The moment my feet is up, all I want to do is eat crap and watch mindless TV.  Fortunately, I'll schedule to cook my homemade chili accordingly, that way it's ready to be served by the time Katy Perry starts to Roar on my flat-screen TV.

    Avoid these three foods

Pizza, chips, and wings.  Of all the stuff you find at Super Bowl parties, those three tend to have the most calories and fat.  If number is three is making you laugh, it should.  There's no way I can say NO to wings, they'll get ya every time.
