The nationwide epidemic of people infected with fungal meningitis has risen to 214, with two more cases reported in South Jersey - bringing the total outbreak in South Jersey to 10 as of October 16.
SoJO 1049 reported a few days ago of the first cases in South Jersey where people have been infected with fungal meningitis. Today state health officials have announced that 2 more people have been linked to this outbreak in South Jersey.
The Centers for Disease Control says fungal meningitis has reached South Jersey, the first confirmed case in the Garden State following a nationwide outbreak that has taken the lives of eleven people.
