This time last year I went on the air and said 'let the music help our city'.  For once, I may have been right about something.

The all new Playground Atlantic City will have three floors of music venues and restaurants, and the construction of the first floor is way ahead of schedule.  In fact, during a press conference at the Playground yesterday, Tower Investments CEO Bart Blatstein announced that he is now planning on a June 26 opening.  This is a full week earlier than initially anticipated. The original date was July 3rd.

The first floor will be called T-Street (T for tower).  T-Street will be reminiscent of music row in Nashville, Beale Street in Memphis, and 6th Street in Austin and will celebrate diversity in entertainment. Bonfire Entertainment out of Philadelphia will help bring in buzz-worthy young acts in virtually every music and entertainment genre.  This is the same entertainment group that owns clubs such as The Electric Factory.

As far as the dining is concerned, Iron Chef's Jose Garces’ and his team will be returning to Atlantic City. They will be providing all of their signature food and beverage menus for all three floors of the Playground.

This is just another example of some exciting stuff happening in Atlantic City.  So if you're sitting at home and still saying 'the city is dead', you're missing out!
