Medford Man is Honored With A Street Named After Him
Medford Township is honoring an 81-year-old man for his contributions to the community with a street named after him.
Courier-Post reports the story of Bill Stauts, a Camden native who moved to Medford in 1955 and has been an active member of the community ever since.
Although he prefers to be in the background, Stauts' story is a remarkable one considering he continues to be actively involved with the community. And now, he's finally being recognized for his work!
During his life in Medford, Stauts has:
- Served as part of the township committee
- Coached athletic teams
- Served as Medford's zoning officer
- Was Director of Environmental Protection
- Appointed to Medford's Planning and Zoning board during the town's land development ordinance
- Currently President of the Medford Historical Society, and has been a member for 20 years!
- Served as President and Vice President of Medford Business Association during his 40 years as a member
I hope I covered all the bullet points! But as you can see, Stauts is a man fully devoted to Medford.
Hence why it is only right that he is presented the honor of having a street named after him. The Medford Historical Society will be naming an unnamed road off Fostertown Road at Kirby's Mall as 'Stauts Way,' according to Courier-Post Online.
