Medford High School Teacher Arrested For Upskirt Videos of Female Students

A Medford high school chemistry teacher has been arrested for allegedly taking upskirt videos of his female students using a hidden camera in his briefcase.

Reportedly, Eric Howell concealed the camera in a coconut water box and placed it on the side of his briefcase. CBS Philly says, he would unscrew the cap of the box, and carry the bag in a certain way for the camera to record up their skirts and shorts.

It wasn't until a student noticed the weird behavior, that an investigation started May 2. So far, he has allegedly recorded THREE female students in HIS classroom.

As someone who attended schools where male teachers have abused their power and took it upon themselves to prey upon young women, I am disgusted. Absolutely disgusted.

Young woman shouldn't have to deal with their privacy being invaded especially while at school which is supposed to be their safe haven during the day. Scenarios such as this one is detrimental for women going through puberty, not fully understanding their bodies just yet.

I applaud Lenape Regional High School for contacting the girls' families, and offering counseling if needed, as well as local officials for handling the situation swiftly.

Eric Howell has been teaching at Lenape High School in Medford since 2016, and is currently not allowed on the premises. He's being charged with endangering the welfare of a child, official misconduct, and invasion of privacy.

Reports say he's being held at Burlington County Jail until his court appearance Thursday.
