Did you hear about this? A Camden woman allegedly tried to distract police by making a fake 9-1-1 call Monday night.
Here’s how it all went down, a police officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation.
During the stop, an emergency 9-1-1 call was received by township police reporting that there was a man armed with a shotgun at the nearby Wawa Food Market on Little Gloucester Road.
But you guessed it, the passenger of the pulled over vehicle, Janora Carter, was making this fake 911 call the whole time. She was arrested on several active warrants. Police subsequently determined she had placed the 9-1-1 call about the man armed with a shotgun hoping the officer who’d pulled them over would be called to the Wawa and let them go without arresting her and Webb on their warrants, said police. Yes friends, Camden has always been just like Mayberry: Peaceful, quiet, and only one cop and Deputy Barney Fife watching over everyone.
