You can always count on some interesting early-season college football games and this season promises to be no different.

There are some interesting games on the Week 1 slate, with Navy and Notre Dame playing in Dublin, Ireland on Sat. Aug 26 and the Florida Gators heading to Utah to take on the Utes on Thur. Aug 31st.

This will be the 96th meeting between Navy and Notre Dame with the Fighting Irish holding a strong 79-13-1 advantage. Notre Dame had a 43-game win streak in the series snapped back in 2007 and has won five straight in the series, including 35-32 last year in Baltimore.

Navy won back-to-back games in the series in 2009-2010.

This year the Navy will have a new coach, with Brian Newbury taking over for longtime head coach Ken Niumatalolo, who led the Midshipmen for 15 seasons. Notre Dame is led by second-year head coach Marcus Freeman, who went 9-5 in his first season. The Fighting Irish are No. 13 in the initial Coaches poll and have new quarterback Sam Hartman leading the way. Hartman transferred from Wake Forest and is one of the nation's top signal-callers. He is +1600 to win the Heisman Trophy this season, which gives him the 10th longest odds according to the list of US betting sites provided by agamble platform.

The Florida game will be a rematch of their opener in Gainsville last year in which the Gators beat the Utes, 29-26, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators have never lost to Utah, going 2-0 in their meetings.

Keep an eye on the status of Utah quarterback Cameron Rising, who tore his ACL in the Rose Bowl loss to Penn State and may miss the season opener against the Gators.

The Picks: Check the lines with betMGM or even with the best NY sportsbooks, of course, but take Navy with the line pushing three touchdowns. Expect a lot of Notre Dame money to come in, but with a new coach, Navy could be a nice early play. I like Florida, but keep an eye on the line, it could move based on the availability of Rising, so try and jump on the Gators at +8.5 now if you can find it.

Make sure you check the different sportsbooks to ensure you are getting the best line for each contest.
