Bucking the cancellation trend of St. Patrick's Day Parades around the country, organizers of North Wildwood's St Patrick's Day Parade say the show and the parade will go on as planned - rain, shine or Covid.

North Wildwood Recreation and Tourism posted on Facebook that this year's parade is going on as planned on for Sat., March 13.

Here ye here ye ~ North Wildwood St. Patrick's Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, March 13th beginning at 11:30am at 9th & Atlantic Aves. More details will follow as we get closer to the event. This is an outdoor celebration and will not be moved indoors if there is inclement weather. Stay tuned!

Other St. Patrick's Day parades we've been able to check on in towns and cities around the northeast have all been canceled for a second year because of lingering concerns about the spread of the coronavirus, from the biggies in New York, Philly and Boston to regional and local St. Pat's parades around New Jersey.

Organizers of Atlantic City's St Patrick's Day Parade just canceled for 2021 last week, after saying they had tried their best to hold this year's parade.

We gave it our best shot and yes some of you called it (no need for "I told you so") unfortunately due to state restrictions on large gathers we have no choice but to postpone the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade until March 12th, 2022. Both parade organizers and city officials made a solid attempt to move the parade forward but ultimately the concern for public safety and large gathers has led to the postponement.

Reactions to North Wildwood's news that they planned to move ahead with this year's parade were met with widespread support by Facebook users....
