Tragedy struck over the Jersey shore weekend.

21-year old Samuel Jackson of Lowell, Mass., and Thewinco Caesar, 22, of Darby, Pa. were pulled from the ocean by Atlantic City Beach Patrol lifeguards around 7 pm Saturday.

Apparently, the couple were swimming near a jetty, at a beach that Fire Chief Dennis Brooks called, "one of the most dangerous in the city'" (Press of Atlantic City).  The exact location was on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Lifeguards attempted CPR and firefighters used a defibrillator. The victims were also sent to AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
