Heads up if you live in Vineland. Vineland residents are reporting an apparent scam by two men claiming to be Vineland Municipal Utilities workers who were trying to gain access to their homes.

In a post from Vineland City Facebook page the scam is explained.

Vineland Municipal Utilities customers have reported that two men in a black vehicle have tried to gain entrance to their homes claiming that they worked with the Electric Utility on renewable energy and wanted to enter their home to check on their electric. They are also claiming homeowners should have received a letter from the city regarding the matter.

Please remember, all VMU employees have ID badges with photos, and field employees wear uniforms and drive Department vehicles which prominently display the familiar VMU logo.
