Vineland Non-Profit Provides Food and Care to Over 80 SJ Families
More than we'd like to admit, homelessness and poverty in South Jersey is a prominent issue. In which case, The Dream Center of Vineland is doing a Daily Dose of Good for the community that helps those in need.
The Non-profit holds a philosophy of "Find a need and meet it; find a hurt and heal it", where they:
1. Become a food bank-- that provides food for 60 to 80 families per month.
2. Establish an Adopt-A-Block program, where we have "adopted" a block of 100 low income apartments and provide back-to-school supplies, Christmas presents to the children, and food baskets to the families. Weekly, they meet face-to-face with each apartment to address any identified needs, such as housekeeping, shopping, etc.
3. Venture around South Jersey find and feed homeless individuals living in Vineland.
4. Run a small transitional clothing store where individuals can purchase gently used clothing and household supplies at a nominal cost.
But in order to do all of these great things, The Dream Center's operating costs for these programs are solely covered by individual donations and a small percentage of the proceeds from the clothing store. So with your help and donations, you can help maintain these programs that touch the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.
