Body of Missing New Jersey Woman Lauren Cho May Have Been Found

Human remains discovered in a California desert may belong to a missing 30-year-old New Jersey woman.

Lauren 'El' Cho has been missing for months, last seen at the end of June during a cross-country road trip with her boyfriend, Patch.com reports.

Cho's boyfriend, Cody Orell, reported her missing after she allegedly wandered off from a residence where they were staying.

While Cho's boyfriend has not been named a person of interest in her disappearance, their story has shades of YouTuber Gabby Petito, who vanished during a road trip with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie at the end of August. Petito's dead body was found just weeks ago in Utah and Laundrie, who refused to speak with police, remains on the run as a manhunt continues.

Over the weekend came grim news out of Yucca Valley, California (near Joshua Tree National Park) that remains found there could be those of Lauren Cho, NBC News reports.

In a statement, San Bernadino County Sheriff's Office said the identification process to determine if the body is that of Cho could take several weeks. A coroner is currently working to determine the cause of death.
