According to a new study conducted by 24/7 Wall St., Bridgeton, Cumberland County ranks not only THE worst place to live in New Jersey, but the 13th worst place to live in all the United States.

The reports finds Bridgeton's average household earns just over $34,000 a year, putting it in the country's poverty rate's top 10 percentile. Bridgeton is also top 10 for violent crimes per 100,000 residents (year ending 2017). It's apparently SO bad that over the past five years, the city’s Bridgeton's population dipped more than one percent, with residents moving out at an alarming rate.

These findings come at a town when the town is bonded together searching for Dulce Maria Alavez, a 5-year-old girl who went missing from a Bridgeton playground last September.

But we don't expect the residents of Bridgeton to take this study on the chin. We know you'll hit right back with the town's redeeming qualities. So, please...feel free in the comment box below.

By the way, in case you were wondering, Trenton and Asbury Park also ended up on this list.
