Local TV/Radio Sports Anchor Endures Nasty Injury Covering High School Football
We wish a speedy recovery to South Jersey sports guru Pete Thompson who was injured covering a high school football Friday night.
According to a post on his Facebook page, Pete was filming the Egg Harbor Township-Ocean City High School football game when, at the end of a play, video posted online shows he was hit by two players.
On social media, Pete said,
I'm overwhelmed by all the texts, phone calls, Facebook messages, etc. after my accident on the sidelines on Friday night at the Ocean City-EHT game. I've been shooting football games for 24 years... Never been hit. Until Friday... Minimum six weeks of rehab & recovery ahead. I'll get back to ACIT as soon as possible. In the meantime, the video is attached. Appreciate all the LOVE....!
Pete Thompson was a familiar face for years as the sports anchor on WMGM-TV. For the past several years, Pete was frequently heard talking sports on 97.3 ESPN-FM. Wihtin the past couple of weeks, Pete started teaching media at ACIT.
