Burlington County's Dante Foggy was just one dessert away from an epic culinary scholarship, competing in the finale of Chopped: Teen Tournament on the Food Network.

From the early qualification round, Foggy exuded a ton of confidence, staying cool under pressure despite having just a short amount of time to work with ingredients like octopus.

Dante dominated his first go in the Chopped kitchen to advance to the finale.  But in the end his puffed pastry/chocolate covered cricket ice cream/fruit compote wasn't enough to win him the scholarship.  He was bested by a southern-born teen Tommi Rae who received a $25,000 cash prize and $40,000 more towards culinary schooling.

Dante has high hopes for his future.  He is hyperfocused on not only opening his own restaurant, but becoming a youth minister.  We wish him all the best and congratulate him on getting so far on Chopped!
