South Jersey Librarian Accused of Sexual Misconduct with Student Chooses Grand Jury

A South Jersey middle school librarian accused of having an sexually inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student has reportedly rejected a plea deal.

After a hearing Thursday afternoon, 38-year-old Kimberly Pinkham, who worked for Kingsway Regional School District in Gloucester County as a librarian and media specialist, has chosen to go before a grand jury.

Pinkham, who resigned at the end of June, is accused of using her position to “form an inappropriate instructor/student relationship where she engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with the student both during school hours and after,” according to Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

The offer Pinkham turned down would have required her to enter a guilty plea, and she would have been forced to cease all contact with her 14-year-old victim and undergo a mental health evaluation, NJ.com reports.

The case will now go to a grand jury who will decide whether or not to indict her.
