South Jersey Hometown Hero: Spencer Levy of Cherry Hill
Today I spoke with Spencer Levy, a 7th grader at Beck Middle School in Cherry HIll. Spenser has an amazing story, along with an amazing heart, and that is why is our latest Hometown Hero.
Every year, Spenser bakes giant cookies (with adult supervision) in order to raise money for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Spencer baked: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snicker Doodles, Sugar Cookies and Sprinkle Cookies. The cost was $1.00 each or 6 cookies for $5.00. If you would like to support Spencer’s effort, he welcomes all donations.
This year, Spencer baked over 2000 cookies and raised $1923, which he donated to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Since Spencer began Cookies for Kids in 2008, he has raised more than $6500 for CHOP.
