Jersey Shore Counties Receive Unemployment Assistance
Governor Chris Christie continues to fight for all Garden State residents in the battle to dig out for Sandy, and some relief is coming to those whose job has been affected by the "Super Storm".
10 N.J. counties have been approved today for Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance as a result of Sandy. Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean and Monmouth are among the 10 counties receiving this coverage.
This benefit goes to those who were living or working in an affected county at the time of the storm, and now are unemployed as a result of Sandy's damage.
So If you’re unemployed because of the disaster beginning Oct. 28, 2012, you should first file for unemployment insurance benefits, or you can call 856-507-2340 (for Atlantic, Cape May, and part of Ocean) or 732-761-2020 (Monmouth and northern Ocean).
Keep in mind that these claims have to be in by no later than December 3rd.
