A Somers Point police officer takes on child birth when a mother unexpectedly went into labor.

Well, that's definitely not in his job description!

CBS Philly reports, Sophia Marie Ead was welcomed into the world early Tuesday morning thanks to Officer Vincent Rivera.

Apparently, Somers Point Police arrived sooner than the ambulance, and the officer had no choice but to deliver the baby. Using his 10 years of military experience, Officer Rivera kept his cool as he helped mother Alyssa during labor.

CBS Philly also reports both mother and baby are doing just fine.

Congrats to the Eads on their newborn baby girl, and to Officer Rivera!
