Somers Point Boston Market Closes, Rumors Fly About Replacement
One of my go-to local chain restaurants has suddenly closed and everyone seems to have an opinion on what will or should replace it.

The Boston Market on Route 9 in Somers Point has shuttered its doors and pulled the signs off the building. Their web site information now says the location is "permanently closed".
I can't say I am surprised at this news, but I am a little disappointed.
Although the quality of the food and the serving size have gone down at this Somers Point Boston Market over the last couple of years, they still offered a pretty tasty home-cooked-style chicken or meatloaf dinner at an affordable price. I liked both and the corn bread was always good.
Anyway, such is the lifespan of a fast food restaurant in South Jersey these days.
But what will replace the Boston Market?
Shore News posted on Facebook that the location would become a Taco Bell, but 2019 paperwork from a Somers Point zoning meeting shows a plan to construct a Taco Bell across the street on the site of McNaughton's Garden Center parking lot.
One popular rumor is that the Boston Market owners will convert their property to a Chipotle. Some are wishing for a new Chick fil A or the return of Five Guys.
What kind of restaurant would you like to see in this spot?
