Shooting at New Jersey Art Event Leaves at Least 20 Injured
Several people remain in critical condition after a shooting at an all-night art event.
The incident took place just before 3 a.m. at historic Roebling Wire Works in Trenton. Multiple suspects reportedly open fired on the crowd, injuring at least 20 people, including a 13-year-old boy, according to BuzzFeed News. One shooter, a 33-year-old man, was killed by police, while another was captured and remains in custody.
Mercer County Prosecutor's Office reports that 20 victims were treated for gunshot wounds and other injuries.
A homicide task force has taken over an investigation into the shooting as authorities continue to interview witnesses, 6abc.com reports. Trenton Mayor Eric Jackson stated in a press conference, 'This is truly a tragedy for Trenton. My most sincere sympathies go out to the victims and the family and organizers of this event. All shootings whether large or small are a crisis.'
