Police in Wildwood Crest have their suspect in a burglary, and he is under arrest.
Wildwood Crest Police say that on August 25th, officers were called out to a burglary in progress at a condominium on Stanton Road. The caller told police that, thanks to a security camera, they were watching an unknown person rummage through the residence.
Police say the man was gone by the time they arrived, but they were able to secure security camera footage and share a photo of the suspect.
It's believed that this is the photo that police shared at the time:
Police later received a call from a local motel employee who said the suspect had been on property that morning and had taken several items. Police went to the motel, checked their surveillance video, and confirmed that their suspect was the same person who was at the motel.
Eventually, police were able to determine the suspect's name - James “Buddy” Drumm.
Wildwood Crest Police issued a warrant for Drumm, charging him with "Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief for the incident on Stanton Road and further charging him with Burglary and Theft for the incident at the Hotel."
Police say the next day, Drumm turned himself in to authorities. He's being held in the county jail, pending a court appearance.
