The pretty tropical blue-green color in the ocean last week has faded already. It was good while it lasted!

Like Philly.com says, I hope everyone got their Instagram/Facebook opportunity!

If you remember from my blog last week, the beautiful tropical Bahamas-like color was because of an excess of phytoplankton. This microscopic marine plant came up because of the cold water rising from the bottom of the ocean (upwelling). As a result, we saw a pretty green light reflected in the water.

Since water temperatures have gotten higher, the greenish-blue color has faded away.

Womp, womp, womp, I guess it was a cool switch up for a bit. We still have some of the best beaches in the country (Shoutout to Ocean City! LOL).

So, go soak up the sun in our back-to-normal ocean water!
